We have had a much more optimistic weekend following the news on Friday. We bunked off on Saturday to the seaside with the dog, who thoroughly enjoyed being dragged into the sea; he does need to learn how to swim. One of us was more than happy to walk eight kilometers and run in and out of the sea with the dog and one of us wanted to go and get back in the car. Still, it was the first sunshine of the year and as such had to be celebrated.
Child One has an impacted wisdom tooth so we are wishing her the best of luck with finding a suitable dentist. Otherwise we are all fit and healthy, if you don’t count middle age, hay fever, the onset of alcoholism and weight gain. Thing two spent Saturday at the gym; sunbathing, sitting in the hot tub and drinking beer, not quite the work out I expected. Lucky stayed on the computer only leaving his room if absolutely essential.
We cooked our final Sunday roast today and sat around the table together, (not Lucky, would have interrupted his game, so he had room service) with the reckless and the handsome (two of our surrogate children), the meal only slightly delayed by the handsome having to run home and get plates so that we could have one each, and I cried a bit, it made me sad that it was the last Sunday we would sit and eat together at this house. Nobody else cared!
